International Synopsis

At the international level, Henry was the youngest Australian Athlete at the 2017 Deaflympics aged 13, the Games provided Henry with invaluable international experience that he absorbed personally so that he could prepare for what would be a tornado heading towards him when returning back to Australia.

Henry then went on to compete at the 2019 World Deaf Swimming Championship, where he did his best to succeed knowing he had no training or club support because of who he was.

Henry was going to attend the 2022 Deaflympics until Deaf Sports Australia announced they will not be sending a team due to government concerns over Covid-19.

Henry led the Australian Seals as Team Captain at the 2023 World Deaf Swimming Championships in Buenos Aires. Under his watch, he delivered the most successful medal haul since the 2005 Melbourne Deaflympics with 6 medals achieved as a team with every swimmer walking away with a medal. This is regarded as one of the iconic successes of Australian Deaf Sport. Henry himself walked away with 2 Bronze Medals in the 4x100m IM Men’s Relay and the 4x200m FS Men’s Relay, this is the first time Henry podiumed in an international competition.

Henry is now a transitioned Great Britain Athlete where he hopes to lead Great Britain to international glory as he did with his former nation, first shot is at the 2025 Deaflympics, in Tokyo, Japan.
